About Leyton Stories?

Our project is part of a broader range of books, author and literacy activities that we call City Stories.

We work in communities across the UK to deliver book events, author visits and to create imaginative interest for children in books and reading.

How do we generate funding?

We organise book days or sessions, provide authors and books for the children to keep.

We work with a variety of partners to make this possible. We use our research and bid skills to apply to use Family Learning budgets, get financial support from the Library Services, local and regional grants - whatever is currently available.

Starting local book groups?

We freely donate time, web resources, books and our expertise to help you establish children's book groups in your community.

Ask us how?

SmithMartin Partnership LLP

Our partners specialise in delivering support to Children's Centres, schools and charities in a variety of local authority areas.

We use our professional fees to support our community web business which, for example, donates web and email services to our literacy projects.

Dolphinbooksellers.co.uk

Our book projects spring from the specialist professional books and literacy expertise held within our children's book business Dolphinbooksellers.

We deal with all the major UK publishers and only stock and donate the very best children's books to our projects.

City Stories

We work hard to deliver something really magical around children's books and author visits. We give every child who visits a book bag, full of free books, to keep and start their library. We can organise lunch for everyone and manage the event, invite parents and carers, local partners and councillors, write the press release and give you formal written reports on the event and its impact. Wow!
