Clare Beaton at Leyton Stories

Clare sees her work in two categories -  one consisting of craft and activity books which she writes and illustrates.

 

The titles cover everything from seasons to festivals and pyramids to fairies!

 

Clare also illustrates books for the very young in fabric collage.

 

Hand sewing the pictures using felt, vintage fabrics, buttons, braid, old jewellery and sequins.

Clare is a North London writer and illustrator.

 

Studying graphics and illustration at art college and soon joining the BBC, as an illustrator for childrens’ programmes, Clare began to develop her career as an author from these creative origins.
