Originally teaching Ceramics and Art in a Kent secondary School, then lecturing at the Kent Institute of Art & Design.

 

Moving with his family to Australia in 1992, he began illustrating children’s books professionally. Not long after arriving in Queensland, Australia he was contracted to deliver workshops on ceramics throughout Northern Queensland with the Australian Flying Art School.

 

Thereafter he visited schools with demonstrations on illustration, supported by Australian Government arts funding.

 

Since 1996 he has been a  freelance illustrator, both here and for publishers worldwide.

 

Mike has also continued to lecture in art & ceramics, as well as 3D computing.

Mike has illustrated more than 250 books as well as teaching and lecturing in ceramics.
